Layering textures and materials to complement the industrial architecture.

California

Nestled on the intersection of Santa Monica and Venice with coastline and city views in all directions. This project spans the 4 stories of the historic Santa Monica Phone company built in the 40s, which later became home to the Broad Foundations art collection.  When our client took it over, the industrial loft space was in need of both restoration and a return to its history, as well as a layer of liveable luxury. Amidst concrete floors and soaring ceilings, a curated materials palette was meticulously chosen to embrace the cool tones while adding layers and warmth. Brass details, velvet upholstery, wood accents, vintage adornments, and a swing for good measure round out this industrial but elegant interior.
